Encompass Therapy was developed in 2020 to provide safe quality physical therapy (PT) to patients in Hettinger, ND and the surrounding communities.
Our therapy team has over 75 years of combined experience.
Whether in home or in the outpatient clinic in Hettinger, we strive to maximize individual functional ability.
Alex Thompson DPT
Alex Thompson DPT graduated from the University of North Dakota Bachelors of Physical Therapy in
1992. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2005. Since that time, he has worked
in most PT settings including large and small hospitals, nursing homes, schools, outpatient clinics and
home health. He has built a broad base of knowledge in orthopedic, spine, stroke, vertigo, and pediatrics. He is
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), able to set up work outs for athletes after injury, or create sport-specific training programs. Dr. Thompson also completed a Masters of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Denver Seminary in December 2020.
Special Interests include: fishing and hunting
Kathleen Thompson MPT
Kathleen Thompson MPT graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Masters of Physical
Therapy in 1994. Since that time, she has worked in most PT settings including large and small hospitals,
nursing homes, schools, outpatient clinics and home health. Kathleen has developed expertise in vestibular therapy, dizziness and imbalance. She also has built a broad base of knowledge in orthopedic, spine, stroke, pediatrics. She is
lymphedema certified and a Tai Chi instructor.
Special interests include quilting, canning, gardening, and painting.
Alex and Kathleen live in Hettinger ND. They have two grown children.
Marla Archibald, PTA
Marla graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD with an Associate of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1997. She is licensed in North Dakota and South Dakota. She has worked in acute hospitals, long term care, and outpatient therapy clinics. She has a broad base of knowledge in stroke, amputee, and orthopedic.
Special Interests include reading, sewing, and ranch life.
Marla lives with her husband, Dave, and son southeast of Lodgepole SD.
